Battle of Mattsee - Move 5


1600-1700

16 June 1813



11 Bavarian Corps

The gunners have received casualties and will have to move much closer to the town if they are to inflict any casualties before the infantry attack.


Orders – Move to Mattsee

4 Command Points

Manhandle artillery towards Mattsee

Rear infantry move forward

Two infantry form column of attack


2 Austrian Corps

General Klenau moves to the left flank to command the two infantry brigades and artillery covering this flank. This will take him out of command range of his cavalry.


Orders – Hold Mattsee

4 Command Points

Artillery fire on infantry column, total 4 with 2D6, and miss

General move to hill

Infantry on hill move and form column of attack


Infantry start to form column of attack in preparation for attack
Artillery have suffered 1 casualty but are still formed

Summary

Bavarian infantry are changing formation ready to advance
One infantry brigade moving to support artillery and pin town garrison
Cavalry continue to protect right flank

Austrian artillery engage enemy infantry but are ineffective
Two infantry brigades now deployed to hold Franken road
Cavalry deployed to counter enemy cavalry
